For International Mother Language Day 2026, our popular and multi-award-winning children's book "Am I Small?" is available for all countries of the world (all 195 UN states with observer or member status) in at least one national language each. Thus, in 2026, the book remains a true global children's book for all children of the Earth.
International Mother Language Day is celebrated worldwide on February 21, 2026, to promote multilingualism and linguistic and cultural diversity. The observance was established by UNESCO in 1999 and celebrated for the first time in the year 2000.
In 2002, "International Mother Language Day" was also globally recognized by the United Nations (UN) via resolution. The theme in 2026 is: "Youth voices on multilingual education".
